Synopsis: An epic tale relating the events in the last portion of the Odyssey, namely Odysseus' return home and the contest among the suitors. References to Austin Powers, gratuitous light saber battles, and horrendous mispronunciation ensues.
Favourite bits:
This particular film is famous for the following things.
1) Brendan is constantly calling Chris "Tele-Nachos" or something equally wrong.
2)We learn that a spork is better than a knife for it is in fact a spoon and a f--k in one. This is what comes of letting Jackie edit.
3)The boys broke the picnic table.
4)We also learn: Schist is a foliated metamorphic rock.
5)My death scene. I am slain by an arrow that lands about 10 feet in front of me. In the next cut, the arrow is also on my other side. (we did this on purpose)
6)This was one of Deniz's earliest attempts at cinematography. Consequently, the first day of shooting was thrown out. He got better, though.
7)Deniz could not be watched as he did the introduction. I do not even recall the number of takes that his laughter caused. But we were reciting every mess up by heart for weeks.
8)Daniella's death scene. Not only did we "cleverly" find a way to "throw her off the porch", but everything after that is straight out of Austin Powers, and the "leg breaking" sound effect created by a stick snapping still freaks me out.
9)Brendan divulges his plan to Chris on the swingset.
10)For the end, Brendan imitated the James Bond trademark of shooting at the camera.
11)On the way down the stairs to kill us all, Brendan is humming the "Duel of the Fates" which is used for the soundtrack in the fight scene which immediately follows.
12)Brendan was in constant demand for everyone's English projects henceforth.
13)Deniz is probably going to be a rich and famous director, and we were there at the beginning. Woo!
14)Jackie, please take me backie.
